territory. Bordered to the north and east by the Caribbean Sea, south to the Central
American countries of Belize and Guatemala, and west with the states of Campeche
and Yucatan.

Geography: The land is flat, covered by tropical lowland and along its shores
the Caribbean Sea are made up of several kilometers of beaches of fine sand and
White, inlets, bays and mangrove swamps. Due to the limestone soil of the entire area,
There are not rivers of significance with the exception of Hondo, a navigable river on the border
with Belize, and the Azul, located on the border with Guatemala. The gaps are those of Coba, just north
of Tulum, of the Bacalar northwest of Chetumal, state capital, and the Chichancanab, between Santa Rosa and Polyuc. In the region abound cenotes (fresh water), where they settled near the ancient towns that incorporated the Mayan culture.

Average annual rainfall, abundant, are on average 1,400 mm. The highest temperatures and rainfall were recorded between April and May and from September to January. During the day the weather is warm, so the clothing is recommended lightly.
